Guiding Core Values of Freedom Fellowship

1) The church should be culturally relevant while remaining doctrinally pure.

1 Corinthians 9:19-23

2)  Loving accountable relationships should permeate every aspect of church life.

1 Corinthians 13; Nehemiah 3; Matthew 5:23-24; John 13:34-45; Ephesians4:32

3)  The church should operate as a unified community of servants, each using their spiritual gifts.

Psalm 133:1; 1 Corinthians 12,14; Romans 12:4-8; Ephesians 4:11, 2 Corinthians 8:7

4)  God’s work should be multiplied through mission endeavors and expansion.

Matthew 28:18-20; Isaiah 6:8; Matthew 10:5-10 and 24:14

5)  People are priceless to God…they should matter to the church!   (It’s not about me!)

Luke 5:30-32; Luke 15; Matthew 18:14; Philippians 2:4

6) Individual needs are met and spiritual growth is facilitated best through Small Groups.

Romans 12:10, 13,15; Ephesians 2:19; Philippians 2:4, Acts 2:44-46

7)  Anointed worship and teaching is the catalyst for transformation in individual lives and the church.  Coming together in praise unifies us in our pursuit and desire to be and remain in God’s presence.  Worship has the unique capacity for touching people’s hearts and taking us from an intellectual experience to a spiritual one as our hearts are prepared to welcome and receive the Word of God into our lives.

Psalm 40:3; Romans 12:7; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; James 1:23-25

8)  Excellence honors God and inspires people.

Colossians 3:17; Malachi 1:6-14; Proverbs 27:17; 2 Timothy 2:1

9) Every individual should have a personal relationship with Christ resulting in full devotion to Him, continuous spiritual growth and the bearing of fruit.

Luke 9:23; Philippians 3:10-14; Hebrews 6:1; John 15:8

10)  The church should be led by those with the spiritual gift of leadership.

Nehemiah 1,2; Romans 12:8; Acts 6:2-5

Freedom Fellowship Vision Statement:

Our vision statement allows us to clearly evaluate everything we do as we do as a Body of Believers. Additionally, each member of Freedom Fellowship should be able to share this simple concept with others.

Our purpose at Freedom Fellowship is to:

REACH—people without Christ using Practical and Relevant Ministries to bring them into a fellowship of freedom, acceptance and love.

RESCUE—people from an empty life and show them the hope of Christ.

RESTORE—people to become what God originally intended for us to be… fully devoted followers of Christ.

RELEASE—people back into this world to be salt and light and ensure they become a part of an ongoing, active ministry reaching others who need Christ.

Freedom Fellowship Mission Statement:

This will:

-Constantly remind us of what we are striving to be.

-Guide us on this journey.

-Describe Freedom Fellowship to anyone interested in knowing more.

As a New Testament Fellowship, we are always willing to consider, develop and try new and creative strategies to reach the lost and to develop the body of Christ.  Our focus is intentionally directed outward toward the Lakeway community and to our world where we seek to introduce Jesus Christ to the lost.  Additionally, our attention is directed inward to our fellowship as we partner together in the process of transformation into becoming mature Christians (fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ) through inspirational worship and practical bible study/teaching.

We believe our unique calling in this community is to be the place where anyone can find a warm, welcoming environment in which they constantly encounter the one, true life-changing God. This life changing encounter happens when people come into the presence of God.  We are not attempting to replicate the presence of God but we will strive to create an environment where the Holy Spirit’s presence is welcomed, anticipated, and unquenched.  Thus people will see the power of Jesus, not just men working hard to impress with our efforts and resources.  The Church as described in Acts 2 is our biblical example….and it’s actions and attitudes are ones we hope to bring to life in relevant and practical ways.
